The digested sludge is pumped from the digestion tank to a sludge centrifuge. This will dewater the sludge from 2 to 6% to 25 to 35% of the dry matter (TS) content. Dewatering in the centrifuge is accomplished by centrifugal force.
China Oupeng Machinery CHTS can be adapted to the special characteristics of sewage sludge. The centrifuge is suitable for digestive sludge dewatering as well as direct dewatering of excess sludge.

If the dry matter content is increased from 23 to 25 percent, this means that the wastewater treatment plant can reduce its sludge volume by about 8 percent. As a result, transportation and cleaning costs are also reduced by about 8 percent.
