The major difference with the decanter centrifuge is the separation of the two-phase liquids: in the case of the SX three-phase centrifuge, the heavier liquids are discharged under pressure by means of an adjustable pump impeller. The lighter liquids are discharged by gravity. The pump impeller allows the depth of the tank to be continuously adjusted during operation, so that the feed conditions can be adjusted quickly and precisely - without having to interrupt operation.
